Photography is one of those rewarding hobbies; to capture a true smile, the glisten of an eye, the laugh of a child, the sound of nature, or the inspiration of an event gives a sense of joy to those taking, and viewing, the picture. Pictures can speak thousands of words, and can be very powerful. I strive to one day make a difference by photography. It is something that I am passionate about and enjoy doing. I specialize in portrait photography. I believe what Paul Strand said was true,
"It is one thing to photograph people. It is another to make others care about them by revealing the core of their humanness."

Day One: Banff

I'm sitting on the hotel bed looking out the window; majestic mountains fill the frame and remind me of how small I truly am. I did not expect the Rockies to fulfill their name so well. I am left speechless after driving through a mountain range for the first time in my life. And to think, I haven't even walked on them yet! So many adventures left in store!

Today we flew to Calgary at 7:30am. I really do love flying. I decided that I will fly around the whole world some day. Ha. We landed and visited friends at their new house. I managed to sneak out to take some pictures of the sky and their backyard (filled with cattle, rolling hills, and clay. ;P). So here you are! 6 pictures from day one. :)
